It's back! The San Diego Convention Center is proud to be the "mothership" for the 49th annual Comic-Con International.
This iconic event brings an estimated 135,000 attendees into our facility and into the region, from Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22. Attendees with preview night passes get first access to the exhibit floor starting on Wednesday, July 18.
The event brings international guests from over 80 countries and thousands upon thousands of registered media from around the world.
Comic-Con generates the most regional impact of any event hosted at the San Diego Convention Center, all year. This infographic shows the estimated economic impact this year's premier pop-culture phenomenon brings.

As the event grows, a collaborative approach was taken this year to create a pedestrian experience on our front drive. This also improves the security of the event. Here's a look at the ABC's of what's new.

Our community benefits in other ways during the show as well. We are environmental superheroes and stewards during this event and every event we host. Here's a fun fact: we are able to recycle 100 percent of all cardboard boxes through our two balers located on site. This is in partnership with Waste Management who then transports that cardboard offsite with natural-gas fueled trucks.
And finally, we can't forget the food! This year, our food and beverage team is serving up fish tacos and many new healthy food options, including gluten free and vegan items. And we have four new flavors of on-site Comic-Con themed Chocolate Bars we produce entirely in-house.
