Building Lighting Requests

The San Diego Convention Center supports and celebrates our diverse San Diego community and nonprofit organizations. One way we collaborate with our community is by lighting our iconic Sails Pavilion in support of local initiatives and awareness days. This lighting is available when the Sails Pavilion is not in use/contracted by our convention clients.

Community lighting requests will be considered in the following categories:

Awareness days and months (e.g., Pride Month)
Events of significance to San Diego or our industry (e.g., Padres Opening Day)
City and County of San Diego initiatives

Please use the following form to submit your lighting request. Requests must be submitted at least 14 days in advance.

Requests will be confirmed according to our criteria and the availability of the Sails Pavilion. The exact timing of the lighting will depend on the time of year, the contracted use of our building, and other factors.

Lighting requests will not be considered for: personal occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries; religious figures and organizations; political campaigns and organizations; any causes that support discrimination, prejudice or violence. The San Diego Convention Center reserves the right to refuse requests and modify the lighting schedule at any time. Lighting schedules are subject to change based on event activity and related considerations.
