For the second time in as many months, meeting planner executives nationwide have singled out the San Diego Convention Center as one of the very best facilities of its kind in North America. Readers of Facilities and Destinations Magazine, a top meeting industry publication, recently selected San Diego for the prestigious 2004 Prime Site Award based on overall facility excellence, quality of services provided, professionalism of staff, and attractiveness of the destination. This marks the sixth time since 1995 that the San Diego Convention Center has captured this major industry honor. The 2004 Prime Site Award also further cements San Diego's reputation as "America's Top Meeting Destination" among meeting planners - the true decision-makers in the highly competitive convention and meeting industry. In July of this year, the Watkins Study, a prestigious competitive analysis measuring the attitudes of more than 400 meeting planner executives towards the nation's 44 leading convention and meeting destinations, found that San Diego was the top-rated city in the United States and Canada for conventions and meetings. San Diego also had the very best convention center, hotel package, and convention and visitors bureau in North America.
