San Diego Convention Center Recognized for Outstanding Service By Industry Professionals

Receives a Prime Site Award for the 9th time in the last 16 years

The San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) was honored to receive a Facilities & Destinations 2011 Prime Site Award, recognizing our team’s outstanding service, venue and personnel. This is the 9th time our facility has received this prestigious industry award since 1995.

The annual awards, presented by the Facilities Meeting Group based out of New York, NY, are voted on by the group’s readership of more than 51,000 industry professionals including association and corporate meeting planners and executives, independent meeting planners and trade show managers.

“By winning a Prime Site Award, it is obvious that your staff does a fine job of serving your clientele,” said Michael Caffin, associate publisher, Facilities & Destinations. “Congratulations to the San Diego Convention Center and its staff. I know it has always been one of my favorite convention centers and its business partners obviously feel the same way.”

Carol Wallace, SDCC president and CEO, says it is an honor to be recognized year after year by those individuals who matter most – our clients.

“We are elated to be chosen as a Prime Site Award winner once again,” said Wallace. “Providing first-class customer service to our guests is our top-priority at the Convention Center. And it is wonderful to know that our clients’ experience matches up with our staff’s expectations – to treat every person that walks through our doors as a VIP.”

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation manages, markets and operates the San Diego Convention Center. Since opening in 1989, the facility has proved to be a vital economic engine generating $21 billion in regional economic benefits and $400 million in tax dollars for the City of San Diego.
