WHAT: PUBLIC WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED TO GATHER COMMUNITY INPUT ON CONVENTION CENTER EXPANSION
The public is invited to attend either of two workshops scheduled in July to learn about ongoing planning efforts on the proposed expansion of the San Diego Convention Center.
The purpose of the workshops is to gather additional public feedback on urban design, parks, view corridors, waterfront enhancements, public access, eco-friendly design, sustainable practices and other elements. The workshops are part of an ongoing effort to provide public input as efforts to expand the current facility proceed.
The public is encouraged to provide input which will be incorporated into the information provided to the architectural design teams competing to win the design contract for the expansion. The additional feedback will supplement public comment gathered by the Mayor’s Citizen Task Force on the San Diego Convention Center Project, including input received at the 11 public hearings held in 2009 by the Task Force.
