Nikki Clay Appointed to San Diego Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors

Chris Kramer reappointed to second term

Nikki Clay, a partner at the government relations firm of Carpi & Clay, has been appointed by Mayor Jerry Sanders and the San Diego City Council to serve on the board of the San Diego Convention Center Corporation.

Clay works with private- and public-sector companies and organizations to develop and implement government, community and media relations strategies and programs.  Previously, Clay has served as a Budget and Policy Analyst in the San Diego County Office of Management and Budget and as Director of Special Projects for the County’s Chief Administrative Officer.

An active member of the San Diego community, Clay supports numerous civic, charitable and philanthropic causes and has served on the board of directors for the Downtown San Diego Partnership and the San Diego County Taxpayers Association.

The San Diego City Council also reappointed current board member Chris Cramer, CEO and co-founder of Karl Strauss Brewing Company, to a second term.

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation’s nine-member board of directors sets policy for the Corporation. The City Council appoints seven voting members to three-year terms. Two non-voting members are appointed by the Hotel-Motel Association and the San Diego Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The San Diego Convention Center Corporation is a public benefit corporation created by the City of San Diego. The Corporation is exclusively responsible for marketing, managing and operating the Convention Center. In its 19-year history, the Center has generated nearly $15.2 billion in economic impact, over $309.8 million in tax revenues and continues to serve as San Diego’s premier gathering place.
