San Diego’s Bayside Facility Ranked one of the Best in the U.S.

Recognized By Those Who Matter Most –
Our Clients

For the third year in a row, the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) was selected as one of the top facilities in the nation by Association Meetings readers and honored with a 2009 Inner Circle Award.

"Our talented, hard-working staff members deserve the credit for this award that comes straight from our clients – meeting planners – casting their votes for facilities that excel at making their meeting a memorable experience," says Carol Wallace, SDCCC president and CEO.

Each year Association Meetings readers select a total of 70 Inner Circle Award winners. This year 40 hotels, 15 convention and visitors bureaus and 15 convention centers were honored with an Inner Circle Award.

San Diego’s Dining Community Honors SD Convention Center

San Diego's world-class dining community recently honored the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC) by naming our facility the Large Service Provider of the Year. Home to a diverse and delicious restaurant scene, San Diego is known for its fresh seafood, authentic Mexican cuisine and a wide variety of ethnic and traditional foods.

"Unique dining experiences are one of the reasons why attendees love coming to San Diego," says Carol Wallace, SDCC president and CEO. "We have become known as a top-tier dining destination because of the diverse cuisine offered by our local restaurants. And we enjoy sharing these culinary treasures with our clients, their attendees and their guests."

Public Affairs Team Scores Prestigious Industry Awards

The San Diego Convention Center's (SDCC) Public Affairs team received accolades from the world's largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

The team was awarded a Silver Anvil Award of Excellence for work on the Mayor's Citizen Task Force on the City of San Diego Convention Center Proposed Expansion Project. A Bronze Anvil was awarded for work done on Panorama, the corporation's online newsmagazine designed to inform meeting and event planners on the many benefits of hosting an event at the Convention Center.

The Silver Anvil, akin to the Academy Award's Oscar, is the highest award given to public relations professionals and organizations.
