 The San Diego Convention Center Corporation (SDCCC) was selected by the City of San Diego to receive a 2010 Recycler of the Year Award. The award is part of the city’s annual program to honor businesses that have implemented successful waste, reduction, recycling and recycled product procurement programs.
In 2009, more than 38 percent of the Convention Center’s diverted materials were recycled. That was an increase of more than 22 percent over 2008. Not only does this award reflect our efforts, but also those of our clients, who are committed to environmentally-friendly practices and choose to recycle materials left over from conventions including food, carpet, badges, plastics, bottles, cans, paper and pens, among other items.
