Designed with sustainability in mind, Hotel Indigo in San Diego is the first property in the Gaslamp Quarter that is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified hotel.
Built green through and through, the property has built a host of environmentally-friendly practices into its operations, such as a property-wide recycling program, an on-site heat pump plant, an herb garden, and a paperless property management system.
The hotel is also topped with a green roof, covered with drought resistant plants, on the 9th and 12th floors. A cool roof reflects the sun’s heat and emits absorbed radiation back into the atmosphere. It also reduces the amount of heat transferred to the building below, keeping the building a cooler and more constant temperature.
Hotel Indigo’s Phi Terrace Bar and unique meditation deck has composite decking that is made from recycled polyethylene plastic (ie: grocery bags and milk jugs) and recycled wood fibers (a by-product from furniture and cabinetry making).
Located a block away from PETCO Park and within walking distance to the San Diego Convention Center, Hotel Indigo has 210 airy guest rooms with spa-inspired showers featuring environmentally-friendly Aveda products. |
