San Diego Theatres
San Diego Theatres is a 501(c)3 non-profit, public benefit corporation established in 2003 by the San Diego Convention Center Corporation. It manages, operates and markets the San Diego Civic Theatre and the historic Balboa Theatre.

The 2,967 seat San Diego Civic Theatre is the region’s largest and greatest attended performing arts venue. Opened in January 1965, the Civic Theatre is home to the San Diego Opera, Broadway/San Diego, La Jolla Music Society and California Ballet.

Built in 1924, the historic Balboa Theatre was originally an elegant vaudeville and movie palace in the heart of downtown. Reopened in 2008 after lying dormant for more than 20 years, the Balboa Theatre now hosts the Mainly Mozart Summer Festival, San Diego Men’s Chorus and intimate Broadway/San Diego productions.
